vuvuzela
Plastic monotone horn
A vuvuzela is a plastic horn about two feet long that produces a loud, monotone buzzing sound when blown.
The instrument became globally notorious during the 2010 FIFA World Cup in South Africa, where crowds of fans blowing them created a constant droning roar that dominated broadcasts: The vuvuzelas made it impossible to hear the commentators.
