trombone
Brass with slide
A trombone is a brass instrument with a distinctive sliding tube that changes pitch by extending or retracting.
The player buzzes lips into a cup-shaped mouthpiece while moving the slide to different positions.
Trombones appear in orchestras, jazz bands, and marching bands, known for their rich, sliding tone and ability to play both melodic lines and bass parts.
