beasts
Savage untamed animals
Beasts are animals, especially large or wild ones: beasts of burden, beasts of prey.
The word carries a wilder, more primal connotation than "animals"—you might call zoo creatures beasts but probably not house pets.
Figuratively, a beast is someone brutal or cruel, or conversely, someone impressively powerful or skilled: He's a beast on the basketball court.
The word often implies something fearsome or untamed.
