livestock
Barn-dwelling farm creatures
Livestock are animals raised on farms or ranches for food or labor—horses, cattle, sheep, pigs, goats.
Chickens, turkeys, and ducks are sometimes included but more often called poultry, with livestock reserved for four-legged animals.
The word implies groups; a single horse wouldn't count as livestock.
The rancher moved his livestock to higher ground before the flood.
