authors
Names on spines
Authors are people who write—books, articles, essays, or other texts.
The term carries more weight than "writer," suggesting completed, published work: the author of three novels.
Author also means originator more broadly: the author of the plan.
As a verb, to author is to write or create: She authored the report.
In academic contexts, authors are credited contributors to research papers.
