Tutankhamun

Ancient Egyptian ruler

Tutankhamun was an Egyptian pharaoh of the 18th dynasty who ruled around 1330 BCE and died as a teenager.

He would be historically obscure except that his tomb, discovered in 1922, was found nearly intact—one of the few royal Egyptian tombs to escape ancient looters.

The golden death mask and lavish burial goods made "King Tut" a cultural icon and sparked global fascination with ancient Egypt.
