Nebuchadnezzar

Ancient Mesopotamian ruler

Nebuchadnezzar was a Babylonian king who conquered Jerusalem and destroyed the First Temple in 586 BCE, exiling the Jews to Babylon.

The name appears frequently in biblical contexts and has become shorthand for a powerful but tyrannical ruler.

A Nebuchadnezzar is also an enormous wine bottle holding fifteen liters—twenty times a standard bottle.
