Saint Petersburg

Neva River metropolis

Saint Petersburg is a major Russian city on the Baltic Sea, founded by Peter the Great as a "window to Europe" and serving as the Russian capital for two centuries.

The city has changed names with political tides—Petrograd during World War I, Leningrad during the Soviet era, then back to Saint Petersburg in 1991.

We visited the Hermitage in Saint Petersburg.

Saint Petersburg is also a city in Florida, often called St.

Pete.
