outrage
Righteous anger, boiling
Outrage is intense anger or indignation provoked by something perceived as unjust, offensive, or morally wrong: The verdict sparked public outrage.
As a verb, to outrage is to provoke such feelings: His comments outraged the community.
An outrage is also the act itself—a shocking offense or violation: The massacre was an outrage against humanity.
Outrageous describes things that provoke outrage, though it often softens to mean merely extreme or absurd: outrageous prices, an outrageous outfit.
