FDR

New Deal architect

FDR is the common abbreviation for Franklin Delano Roosevelt, the 32nd president of the United States, who served from 1933 until his death in 1945—the only president elected to four terms.

FDR led the country through the Great Depression and most of World War II.

The initials became so associated with him that FDR functions almost as a name itself: FDR's New Deal transformed American government.
