Abednego

Babylonian furnace survivor

Abednego is a biblical figure from the Book of Daniel, one of three young Jewish men—along with Shadrach and Meshach—who were thrown into a fiery furnace by King Nebuchadnezzar of Babylon for refusing to worship a golden idol.

According to the story, they emerged unharmed, protected by divine intervention.

The three names appear together so frequently that they function as a unit, often referenced when speaking of unwavering faith or miraculous deliverance from danger.
