Greek Orthodox Church
Byzantine Christian denomination
The Greek Orthodox Church is the branch of Eastern Orthodox Christianity associated with Greece and Greek-speaking communities worldwide.
It shares theology and liturgical traditions with other Orthodox churches—Russian, Serbian, Romanian—but operates as a distinct national church under its own patriarch.
Greek Orthodox Easter often falls on a different date than Western Easter due to calendar differences.
