Transfiguration
Divine radiance revealed
The Transfiguration is a New Testament event in which Jesus's appearance was transformed on a mountaintop before three disciples, his face shining like the sun and his garments becoming dazzling white.
Moses and Elijah appeared alongside him, and a voice from heaven identified Jesus as God's son.
The Feast of the Transfiguration, observed on August 6th in Western churches, commemorates this event. (Lowercase transfiguration is any dramatic transformation.)
