Antitheism is active opposition to belief in God or gods—not merely lacking belief (atheism) but viewing theistic religion as harmful and worth combating.
An antitheist argues that religious faith causes damage to individuals or society and should be discouraged: His antitheism went beyond personal disbelief; he considered organized religion a social menace.
