Up and Up

Aboveboard and rising

On the up and up means legitimate, honest, or steadily improving.

In American English, it usually signals that something is aboveboard and trustworthy: Is this deal on the up and up?

In British English, it more often means progressing or advancing: Business has been on the up and up lately.

The phrase nearly always appears with "on the."
