toggle

Back and forth

Toggle is a fastener or switch that moves between two positions—a coat toggle pushed through a loop, a light switch flipped on or off.

In computing, toggle describes any control that alternates between states with each activation: Toggle the setting to enable dark mode.

The verb means to switch back and forth: I keep toggling between tabs.
