Crazy Horse

Oglala Sioux chief

Crazy Horse was an Oglala Lakota war leader who resisted U.S. expansion into tribal lands during the 1860s and 1870s.

He helped defeat Custer at the Battle of Little Bighorn in 1876.

He was killed while in U.S. custody in 1877.

His name has attached to a famous memorial carved into a South Dakota mountain and to various bars and clubs, most notably a Parisian cabaret.
