quick
Done without delay
Quick is most frequently an adjective and adverb whose meanings overlap largely with fast (quick glance, quick meeting, got there quick).
When reactions or thinking are characterized as quick, there is often a connotation of cleverness and skill.
If you’re quick to do something, however, it may suggest a lack of forethought: She’s always quick to condemn her critics.
In older use, quick means alive, as in the phrase the quick and the dead.
A different noun quick refers to a painfully sensitive spot of flesh.
