petanque
Toss metal spheres
Pétanque is a French lawn game in which players throw or roll metal balls toward a small wooden target ball called a cochonnet.
Similar to bocce and lawn bowling, the goal is to land your balls closest to the target.
Players stand in a small circle and toss underhand, typically on packed dirt or gravel courts.
We played pétanque in the park with a glass of wine.
The game is especially popular in southern France and has spread to other countries.
