Horseshoes with hoops
Quoits is a game in which players toss rings at a stake, trying to land them over or near it.
The rings themselves are also called quoits, traditionally made of iron or rope.
The game resembles horseshoes: We played quoits on the lawn after the picnic.
The singular quoit names a single ring.
