tosspot
One who imbibes
Tosspot is a mild British insult for someone regarded as stupid, incompetent, or contemptible.
The word originally referred to a heavy drinker—someone who tosses back pots of ale—but this literal sense has faded, leaving behind a general-purpose term of abuse with an old-fashioned flavor.
Don't be such a tosspot.
It carries less sting than stronger insults but more bite than calling someone a fool.
