truth
What facts state
Truth is the the quality of being true, mainly as opposed to false.
It is most often an uncountable noun (tell the truth, truth will out), and is typically used with the, implying that for a given situation there is only one truth.
When used as a countable noun truth designates a single statement or utterance regarded as being true (we hold these truths to be self-evident).
We usually think of truth as being expressed in language, but it is often used with verbs that suggest we can become aware of the truth through any of our senses (uncover the truth, realize the truth). #
