spliceable
Able to combine
Spliceable describes something that can be spliced—joined or connected by interweaving or overlapping parts.
The term applies most often to ropes, cables, film, or genetic material like DNA.
In molecular biology, spliceable sequences are those capable of being cut and rejoined during gene expression.
The damaged section was spliceable, so we didn't need to replace the whole cable.
