workprint
Unfinished film version
A workprint is a rough version of a film used during editing, before color correction, sound mixing, and final effects.
It's the working copy editors cut and rearrange, often with visible splices, temp music, or placeholder footage.
Workprints sometimes leak before theatrical release, giving viewers an unfinished glimpse: A workprint of the movie surfaced online months before the premiere.
