slivovitz
Balkan fruit spirit
Slivovitz is a clear brandy distilled from fermented plums, traditional to Central and Eastern Europe—especially Serbia, Croatia, and neighboring countries.
It's typically strong, ranging from 40 to 70 percent alcohol, with a distinctive sharp, fruity flavor.
We passed around a bottle of homemade slivovitz after dinner.
