varietal

One grape's wine

Varietal refers to a wine made primarily from a single grape variety, named for that grape: a cabernet sauvignon varietal, a chardonnay varietal.

The term distinguishes such wines from blends.

More broadly, varietal describes anything relating to or characteristic of a particular variety: varietal differences in apple flavor, varietal characteristics of heirloom tomatoes.
