historian
Expert on eras
A historian is someone who studies, researches, or writes about the past.
Professional historians typically work in academia or archives, analyzing primary sources to construct narratives about events, periods, or cultures.
The term also applies more loosely to anyone with deep knowledge of history: He's the family historian, keeping track of all the genealogy.
