printmakers
Woodcut and lithograph artists
Printmakers are artists who create prints—works produced by transferring images from a prepared surface (woodblock, metal plate, stone, or screen) onto paper or another material.
The term covers practitioners of etching, lithography, screen printing, woodcuts, and similar techniques.
Unlike painters who create unique originals, printmakers typically produce multiple copies of each image: The gallery featured local printmakers working in traditional Japanese woodblock methods.
