screenprinting

Ink through mesh

Screenprinting is a printing technique where ink is pushed through a mesh screen onto a surface below, with a stencil blocking areas that should remain unprinted.

Each color requires a separate screen.

The method works on fabric, paper, glass, and other materials: The band sold screenprinted T-shirts at the merch table.

Also called silk screening or serigraphy.
