mulberry
Dark clustered fruit
Mulberry is a tree of the genus Morus, cultivated for centuries for its sweet, dark berries and its leaves, which are the primary food source for silkworms.
The fruit resembles an elongated blackberry and ranges from white to deep purple-red depending on the species.
Mulberry also names the fruit itself and the dark reddish-purple color associated with the ripe berries.
The mulberry tree in our backyard produces more fruit than we can possibly eat.
