loupe
Diamond examiner's lens
A loupe is a small magnifying glass, typically handheld or worn close to the eye, used for examining fine details.
Jewelers use loupes to inspect gems for flaws, watchmakers to work on tiny mechanisms, and philatelists to study stamps.
Unlike ordinary magnifying glasses, loupes are designed for close-up work and often have higher magnification.
She examined the diamond through her loupe before making an offer.
