TIA
Fleeting brain event
TIA is an abbreviation with two common meanings.
In casual digital communication, it stands for "thanks in advance," a sign-off when requesting a favor: Can someone cover my shift Saturday? TIA.
In medical contexts, TIA means transient ischemic attack—a brief episode of stroke-like symptoms caused by temporary disruption of blood flow to the brain, sometimes called a mini-stroke.
