stenting
Vessel support procedure
Stenting is the medical procedure of inserting a stent—a small tube or mesh scaffold—into a blocked or narrowed vessel or duct to hold it open.
Most commonly refers to cardiac stenting, where a stent props open a coronary artery after angioplasty: He's recovering from a stenting procedure.
Stents are also placed in bile ducts, ureters, and other passages.
