surgery
Cutting to heal
Surgery is medical treatment involving cutting into the body to repair, remove, or replace tissue or organs.
A surgery can also mean an instance of such treatment: She's scheduled for surgery next week.
In British usage, a surgery is also a doctor's office or the hours when a doctor sees patients: The morning surgery begins at nine.
