electrocardiogram
Cardiac electrical tracing
An electrocardiogram is a recording of the heart's electrical activity, produced by a machine that detects and graphs the tiny electrical impulses generated with each heartbeat.
Doctors use it to diagnose irregular rhythms, heart attacks, and other cardiac conditions.
Often abbreviated EKG or ECG: The EKG showed an abnormal rhythm.
