contrast dye
Radiopaque diagnostic fluid
Contrast dye is a substance injected or swallowed before medical imaging to make internal structures more visible.
It enhances X-rays, CT scans, and MRIs by highlighting blood vessels, organs, or abnormal tissues that would otherwise blend together: The doctor ordered a CT scan with contrast dye to check for tumors.
Also called contrast medium or contrast agent.
