hernia
Tissue through wall
A hernia is a protrusion of an organ or tissue through a weak spot in the muscle or membrane that normally contains it.
Most commonly, part of the intestine bulges through the abdominal wall: The doctor diagnosed an inguinal hernia.
Hernias often require surgical repair to push the tissue back and reinforce the weakened area.
