acid reflux
Gastric juice uprising
Acid reflux is the backflow of stomach acid into the esophagus, causing a burning sensation in the chest or throat commonly called heartburn.
Chronic acid reflux is gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD).
Certain foods, lying down after eating, or a weak esophageal sphincter can trigger it: I've had terrible acid reflux since dinner.
