herniated disk
Bulging spinal pad
A herniated disk is a spinal injury where the soft inner material of a vertebral disk pushes through its tougher outer layer, often pressing on nearby nerves.
The condition causes pain, numbness, or weakness, typically in the lower back or neck.
Also called a slipped disk or ruptured disk: The MRI showed a herniated disk at L4-L5.
