prematurity
Arriving before time
Prematurity is the condition of being premature—occurring or arriving before the expected or proper time.
The term appears most often in medical contexts, describing birth before full-term gestation: The infant's health problems were complications of prematurity.
More broadly, it can describe any condition of being too early or underdeveloped: The prematurity of his conclusions undermined the research.
