inguinal
Near the groin
Inguinal means relating to the groin—the area where the lower abdomen meets the inner thigh.
The term appears almost exclusively in medical contexts: an inguinal hernia occurs when tissue protrudes through a weak spot in the abdominal wall near the groin, and inguinal lymph nodes are those located in that region.
