ptosis
Lid hangs low
Ptosis is the drooping or falling of a body part, most commonly the upper eyelid.
Eyelid ptosis can result from nerve damage, muscle weakness, or aging, and may obstruct vision when severe: The patient's ptosis gave her a sleepy appearance.
The term applies medically to sagging of other organs as well—kidney ptosis, for instance.
