foredeck
Ship's front platform
The foredeck is the forward part of a ship's or boat's deck, toward the bow.
On sailboats, it's where anchor handling and sail changes happen: The crew scrambled to the foredeck to set the spinnaker.
On smaller vessels, the foredeck often serves as a lounging area.
