A bodyboarder is someone who rides waves on a bodyboard—a short, rectangular foam board ridden lying down or in a prone position, as distinct from standing surfers.
The sport developed in Hawaii and remains popular at beaches worldwide: The bodyboarders waited for the next set of waves.
