closeout

Inventory clearance event

A closeout is a sale of remaining merchandise at reduced prices, typically when a store is clearing inventory or going out of business: Everything's 50% off—it's a closeout sale.

The term also applies to the final settlement of a financial account or position.

As a verb, to close out means to conclude or liquidate: We need to close out this project by Friday.
