acetylene
Torch flame fuel
Acetylene is a flammable gas used in welding and cutting metal.
An oxyacetylene torch burns acetylene with oxygen to produce an extremely hot flame capable of melting steel.
The gas is also a building block in chemical manufacturing.
The welder adjusted the acetylene valve before starting the cut.
