Wailing Wall
Sacred Jerusalem stones
The Wailing Wall is the Western Wall of the ancient Temple Mount in Jerusalem, a site of Jewish prayer and pilgrimage for centuries.
The name comes from the lamentation of worshippers mourning the destruction of the Temple.
Many Jews consider *Wailing Wall* outdated or mildly offensive, preferring *Western Wall* or the Hebrew *Kotel*.
