Valley Forge

Continental Army's winter

Valley Forge is a site in southeastern Pennsylvania where the Continental Army under George Washington camped during the brutal winter of 1777–78.

Thousands died from cold, disease, and starvation.

The name has become shorthand for suffering and endurance through hardship: This project has been our Valley Forge.
