Trenton

Delaware River capital

Trenton is the capital city of New Jersey, located on the Delaware River.

It played a notable role in the American Revolution, most famously as the site of George Washington's surprise attack on Hessian forces the morning after his 1776 crossing of the Delaware.

The city developed as an industrial center, particularly for pottery and steel cable manufacturing.

Trenton makes, the world takes was the city's longtime slogan, displayed on a bridge spanning the river.
