Numa Pompilius

Numa Pompilius was the legendary second king of Rome, traditionally reigning from 715 to 673 BCE.

Roman tradition credits him with establishing religious institutions, rituals, and the calendar.

He appears in discussions of Roman history and religion as the peaceful successor to Romulus, the city's founder: Numa Pompilius was said to receive divine guidance from the nymph Egeria.
